Bill Kenny Lucky, 65, Elizabeth Street, husband of Zereda Thompson Lucky, retired boiler maker and high pressure welder for Lucky Brothers, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at the Hospice Care Center. He was born December 3, 1941 in Paris, son of the late George Earl and Dorcas Smith Lucky, Sr., a graduate of Paris High School, and attended the University of Kentucky. Bill was a lifelong member of Paris First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Administrative Board Committee, former Chairman of the Board, former Chairman of the Trustees, and former Chairman of Pastor Parish. He was also Past Master of Paris Lodge #2, F&AM, Past Worthy Patron of Paris Marie Chapter #167 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Committee of 101, a Kentucky Colonel, member of the Section 8 Housing Board, former teacher at the Harrison County Vo-Tech School, a volunteer for Medicare Part D and received a citation from the Kentucky House and Senate for helping citizens prepare to sign up. Mr. Lucky built several fire trucks for the Bourbon County Fire Department, operated Lucky Brothers Machine Shop with his three brothers, and had worked for CMC for 14 years. Other survivors are two sons, Ken (Angie) Lucky, and Ernie (Julie) Lucky, both of Cynthiana; four grandchildren, Daniel Lemons, Will Lucky of Cynthiana, Megan Lucky, Jannica Lucky of Paris; a brother, George (Utevia) Earl Lucky, Jr., Paris; and a sister, Dorcas Ruth "Suzy" (John Robin) Smits, Paris. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert "Bob" Lucky and Jack Lucky. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 26, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Jerri Williams with interment in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be David Mann, Roger Lemons, Van Florence, John Robin Smits, Wayne Brown, and Larry Klinefelter. Honorary bearers will be Harry Craig, William Birdwell, Mike Purcell, Lem Arnold, Jim Harrill, and the Methodist Men. Visitation will be 5 to 8 pm Friday. Masonic services by Paris Lodge #2 F&AM will be at 7:30 pm, Friday.
