Billy Joe Snapp, 58, Bethlehem Road, retired Lexmark technician, U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and a Purple Heart recipient, husband of Michele Sosby Snapp, died Monday, June 11, 2007 at the UK Medical Center. He was born April 19, 1949 in Bourbon County, son of Cecil Snapp, Sr., Mt. Olivet, and the late Ethel Pearl Newman McFarland, attended Clintonville School, and was a member of the Paris City Club and the American Legion. He is also survived by a daughter, Tonya Snapp; a son, Robert Snapp; a very special grandson, Michael Joseph Snapp, all of Paris; two brothers, Ronald Dean (Sue) Snapp, Kissimmee, FL, Douglas Snapp, London, England; a sister, Wanda Gail (Mike) Wagner, Corbin; his stepmother, Pauline Gilvin Snapp, Mt. Olivet; and three stepbrothers, Terry Lynn Snapp, Cecil Wayne Snapp, and David Ray Snapp. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at the Paris Cemetery Chapel by Travis Cook. Casket bearers will be Ricky Carpenter, Kenneth Smoot, Tinker Jones, Mike Herrington, Gary Newman, and Michael Snapp. Members of the Paris City Club will serve as honorary bearers. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home.
