Broadus Peel, 81, retired dairy farmer and Columbia Gas employee, widower of Iva Katherine Hisle Peel, died Saturday, January 5, 2008. He was born August 10, 1926 in Jessamine County, son of the late Elbert and Daisy Wardlow Peel and was a member of Herrington United Methodist Church. He is survived by two sons, Bobby Joe (Wanda) Peel, Lexington, Johnny Corman Peel, Texas; three daughters, Helen McCall, Carlisle, Sheila Hawkins, Ohio, Janice Corman Peel, Texas; seven grandchildren, Joe Keith Peel, Millersburg, Mary Jane Peel Richmond, Paris, Billy Peel, Shannett Peel, Susie Peel, Naomi Morris McCall, Adam McCall; 13 great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; two sisters, Nancy Peel (Robert) Burchell, Millersburg, Mary Peel (Archie) Cobb, Nicholasville; two brothers, Earl (Linda) Peel, Elbert (Suzanne) Peel, Jr., both of Nicholasville; and several nieces and nephews including Brenda Isaac and Toby Roe, Candy Teegarden, and Calvin (Carlotta) Isaac. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucy Cobb, Rose Canter; and four brothers, Robert, Bill, Tommy, and Danny Peel. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Joel Mooneyhan with entombment in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Joe Keith Peel, James McDonald, Dwayne Lee, Dwayne Harris, Adam McCall, and Shane Gooch. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
