Cecilia Fritz Gasser, 99, retired cafeteria worker at Southside Middle School, died Monday, September 1, 2014 at Bourbon Community Hospital. She was born May 27, 1915 in Ruddles Mill, Bourbon County, daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Mahorney Fritz. Mrs. Gasser was a 1933 graduate of Ruddles Mill High School as the class valedictorian and was a lifetime member of the Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by three daughters, Margaret G. (Donal A.) Isaac, Diana G. Jones, Joan G. Johnson; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Violet Lang, Ruby Hausberger, Elizabeth Klee, Helen Florence, Agnes Sidles; and a brother, C.B. Fritz. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 5, at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation by Father Daniel L. Fister, assisted by Deacon Ron Sparks, with burial in the Saint Edward's Cemetery, Cynthiana. Casket bearers will be Chris Jones, Bryon Jones, Barry Jones, Michael Jones, Joe W. Johnson, and Eric H. Johnson. Honorary bearers will be Dr. Murray D. West and Allen Ivy. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Catholic Church of the Annunciation or Saint Edward's Cemetery.
