Charles W. Ramey Jr., 73, retired owner of Charles' Barber Shop for 42 years and former co-owner of Iron Rail Restaurant, died Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Bourbon Community Hospital after battling Parkinson's Disease and dementia for many years. He was born April 10, 1942 in Carter County, son of the late Charles W. and Faye Menach Ramey. Charlie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann Tincher Ramey, Paris; two daughters, Kim Lyons, Carlisle, Robin (Charlie) Wyatt, Bourbon County; a grandson, Braden Wyatt; and two sisters, Ruth Ann (Joe) Tabor, Columbus, Ohio, and Diane (Jamie) Harrell, Osyka, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by a son, Doug Ramey; and a son-in-law, Robbie Lyons. Charlie loved his barber shop and the loafers who were always talking, joking around, and cutting up; he knew everything that went on in Paris. He loved and enjoyed life, loved Don Knotts shows and movies, and loved trading cars. Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. John McGuire. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.
