Cleve C. Thomas, 79, Lynwood Dr, husband of Mary Etta McHargue Thomas, died Saturday, April 5, 2008. He was born May 13, 191928, native of Corbin, KY, son of the late Mary Feese and Cleveland Columbus Thomas.Cleve is also survived by a daughter Dr. Cecilia (Ed Oaks) Thomas Lexington and a son Gary Cleve Thomas of Paris. He was a graduate of Union College, Masters Degree from Eastern Kentucky University, and graduate work at the University of Kentucky, University of North Carolina, University of Wisconsin, University of Louisville, and University of Indiana. He served as teacher, counselor and principal in the Corbin City Schools. He was a counselor and Assistant Principal at Bourbon County High School . He was a Associate Professor at Eastern Kentucky University and retired from State Department of Education as director of residential services for the school of Deaf in Danville and School for the Blind in Louisville. He was veteran of W.W. II and Korean Conflict, member of the First Christian Church. He was a KY Col, former president of the Optimist Club and former deacon and Sunday School Supt. Funeral services Wednesday 11 am at the First Christian Church, by Rev. Jeff Bell. Interment in Cumberland Memorial Gardens, in London, KY. Casket bearers will be Ron Carter, Kurt Volk, Jerry Fisher, Henry Everman, James Thomas, and John Galloway. Honoray bearers will be Bill Bolton, H.D. Jasper, Allen Gordon, Steve Marcum, Brad Mitchell, Ed Williams, Dr. Nathan Moore, and Jim Ishmael. Visitation will beTuesday 5 to 8 pm at the church.
