Cora Elizabeth Hughes, 76, Walker Avenue, widow of Jasper Lee Hughes, died Monday, January 22, 2007 at Bourbon Community Hospital. She was born January 21, 1931 in Bourbon County, daughter of the late Milton S. and Frances Cameron Hill. Mrs. Hughes attended the Church of Christ in Paris and Carlisle where she was active in the clothing room and food pantry. She was a Good Samaritan to all. Mrs. Hedges is survived by a son, Michael H. Hughes, Cynthiana; two sisters, Helen Hafley, Hazel H. Kenney, both of Paris; two brothers, Milton W. (Edna) Hill, Bedford, KY, William A. (Shirley) Hill, Bourbon County; four nieces; and four nephews. A son, Francis A. Hughes, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 25, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Bro. Dustin Rose with interment in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Russell Rogers, Frank Anderson, Cecil Ritchie, Dr. Roy Ross, Sid Wells, and Shannon Sageser. Honorary bearers will be Richard Cook, Milton Hill, William A. Hill, George Rogers, and Wilbert Winkle. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to Paris Church of Christ.
