Dorothy Morrison Cox, 92, retired secretary for Fayette Carpet, widow of Clayton Cox and Hubert Morrison, died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Johnson-Mathers Health Care. She was born July 16, 1918 in Durham, North Carolina, daughter of the late Julian and Mable Curran Speed. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was past president of Methodist Women, a member of Circle 4, and a member of G.E.M.S. She is survived by two sons, Richard Morrison, Boca Raton, FL, Steve (Mary Frances) Morrison, Nicholas County; a daughter, Linda Famulare, Paris; three grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jacque) Morrison, Paris, Michael (Trish) Morrison, Paris, Devin (Jimmy) Daniels, Mount Sterling; and four great grandchildren, Lynn Marie (Kevin) Fuller, Zachery Morrison, Zane Morrison, and Tyler Daniels. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the First United Methodist Church by Rev. Jerri Williams with burial in Millersburg Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jeffrey Morrison, Michael Morrison, Greg Morrison, Zac Morrison, Zane Morrison, and Jimmy Daniels. Honorary bearers will be Earl Clough, Dr. Nathan Moore, Leonard Wilson, Geneva Kelley, Jane Coleman, Rachael Johnson, Jane Brady, Pat Castle, Virginia Graves, and Ethel Shout. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church, Hospice of the Bluegrass, or Aldersgate Church Camp.
