Obituary for Dorothy Hubbard Ogren

Dorothy Hubbard Ogren

Entered into rest - October 5, 2009

Dorothy Ogren, widow of Cmdr. Edwin Ogren, passed away on Monday, October 05, 2009 at the Hospice Care Center. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and David Kidder; three grandchildren, Sharon Kidder, Bethany Duncan, Brian DeWitt Kidder; and a great grandson, Jesse Duncan. Dordee, as she liked to be called, was an accomplished watercolor artist and until recently was very active in the San Diego Watercolor Society. She and her late husband were Pearl Harbor survivors, having met and married in Hawaii shortly after the attack. After her husband's death, she moved in with her daughter, eventually moving with them from San Diego, CA to Lexington, and then to a small farm in Paris. She loved the green, the trees on the horizon, and the warm evening sun casting shadows on the barn. She will be greatly missed. There will be no service, but donations in lieu of flowers to the San Diego Watercolor Society, 2825 Dewey Road 105, San Diego, CA 92106 or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 1317 US Hwy 62E, Cynthiana, KY 41031 would be welcome.
