Edith Mildred Copher Jones, 93, widow of Dudley R. Jones Jr., died Monday, February 23, 2015 at Bourbon Community Hospital. She was born April 12, 1921 in Bath County, daughter of the late Jesse P. and Pearl Downs Copher and was a member of First Church of God. Edith is survived by a son, Donald L. Jones, Lexington; three daughters, Pamela Jones (Robert Nichols), Paris, Janet J. Lee, Versailles, Carolyn (Johnny) Smith, St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Chris Smith, Belleville, IL, Blake E. Lee, Versailles, Tracy (Ron) Cancienne, St. Louis, MO; four great grandchildren, William W. Lee, Aryana Steglich, Caleb Cancienne, Conan Cancienne; a sister, Rebecca Hemphill; three sisters-in-law, Thelma Copher, Billie Copher, Marie Catherine Copher; special friend, Margaret Fay; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, William "Bill" B. Lee; three sisters, Juanita Thomas, Virginia Bartlett, Delores Sageser; and three brothers, Marvin, Fred, and Lloyd Copher. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 27, at First Church of God by Rev. Timothy W. Pierce with burial in Jacksonville Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Johnny Smith, Robert Nichols, Chris Smith, Blake Lee, E.J. Caswell, and David Mefford. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.
