Edward Lee Hollar, 84, a retired farm manager, widower of Virgie Hollar, died Thursday, October 02, 2014 at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home. He was born January 11, 1929 in Paris, son of the late Mike and Florine Letcher Hollar. Ed was a Deacon and former treasurer of Ruddles Mill Christian Church and served as the farm manager for Woodford Spears for over 50 years. He is survived by two daughters, Teresa (Bill) Rogers, Hohenwald, TN, Karen (Steve) Johnson, Paris; three grandsons, Jason Johnson, Shannon Green, Brad Green; three granddaughters, Rebecca Perraut, Ashley Hollar, Shawna Merlin; a sister, Jean Jones, Carlisle; and eleven great grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Hollar; and a sister, Ruth Spegal. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 6, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. John McGuire with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Steve Johnson, Jason Johnson, Shannon Green, Brad Green, Matt Perraut, and Steve Staniford. Honorary bearers will be Johnny Wyatt, Walter Link, and Jimmy Mason. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday.
