Elgin E. Power, 84, Levy Road, retired farmer, widower of Joan Elam Power, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Central Baptist Hospital. He was born September 13, 1923 in Bath County, son of the late Woodson Hoyt and Anna Mae Steele Power and was a graduate of North Middletown High School. Mr. Power is survived by two daughters, Marie (Del) Biddle, Winchester, Debbie (Bill, Jr.) Mattox, North Middletown; a son Robert (Ellen) Power, North Middletown; a sister, Elizabeth Davis, Paris; eight grandchildren, Terry (Doug) VanHoose, North Middletown, Robert (Vicki) Power, Jr., North Middletown, Tracey (Robert) Puckett, Paris, Cyndi (Chris) Collier, Mount Sterling, Eric (Melissa) Biddle, Winchester, Joshua (Danika) Mattox, Salt Lick, Daniel Mattox, Salt Lick; and 14 great grandchildren. A son, Ricky Power, preceded him in death. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at the North Middletown Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Gene Elam, Robert Puckett, Caleb VanHoose, D.W. Biddle, Eric Biddle, Robbie Power, Daniel Mattox, and Josh Mattox. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home.
