Erma Cannon Scott, 94, retired nurse's aide at Bourbon County Hospital, widow of Ray Scott, died Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Johnson-Mathers Health Care Center. She was born July 27, 1917 in Bath County, daughter of the late Alvin and Alta Stephens Cannon. Mrs. Scott was a 1934 graduate of Bethel High School, a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and was an active volunteer in her church and community, serving at Clothing Closet, Bargain Box, Operation Food Basket, and Central Kentucky Blood Mobile. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Donnie Ray Earlywine, Bourbon County; a grandson, Mark (Angie) Earlywine, Nicholas County; four great grandchildren, Desaray Earlywine, Paige Earlywine, Shelbi Robinson, Shayla Robinson; and a devoted friend, Rene Rawlins. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Scotty Earlywine; and two brothers, C.T. and Alvin Cannon. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Jeff Bell and Rev. Chuck Perry with burial in Carlisle Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Phillip Scott, David Scott, William Earlywine, James Kenney, Bob Thompson, and Bruce Forsythe. Honorary bearers will be Kenney Stevens, Kenneth Fowler, Bill Fowler, Billy Woodrow Scott, Nelson Dunaway, Jerry Earlywine, Jimmy Jones, Rufus Hartman, and Tom Robinson. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Johnson-Mathers Health Care Center Activity Fund.
