Ethelyn Thomas Schanding, 75, Vine Street, widow of George Dee Schanding, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at her home. She was born December 29, 1934 in Harrison County, daughter of the late Thurman and Thelma Slade Howard. She was a member of Ishmael Chapel in Nicholas County and attended the North Middletown Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by four daughters, Jennifer (Allen) Wolfe, Jeanetta (Timmy) Jackson, Sandra (Tony) Rader, Roxana Paul, all of Bourbon County; two sons, George Thomas Schanding, Harrison County, Terry Kent (Janice) Schanding, Powell County; a brother, James Howard, Harrison County; 20 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and five great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie and Harold Howard. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 5, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Stevie Brunker, Robert Paul, David Paul, Danny Rader, Marcus Paul, Glen Scott, Jeff Scott, and Duane Scott. Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Friday.
