Eugene Edward Hurst, 85, South Main Street, retired City of Paris Power Department employee, U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II, husband of Doris Monahan Hurst, died Saturday, January 6, 2007 at his home. He was born August 14, 1921 in Bath County, son of the late Lafayette and Ellie Sargent Hurst, a graduate of Bath County schools, and was a member of the Church of God. Mr. Hurst is also survived by a daughter, Sharon Hurst; a son, James Robert Hurst; a grandson, Hadyn Crump; and a brother, Lowell (Patricia) Hurst, all of Paris. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 11, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with interment in the Paris Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
