Everett Johnson, 84, loving husband, father, and grandfather, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at his home. He was born January 1, 1930 in North Middletown, son of the late James M. and June Utterback Johnson. Everett was a car salesman, having worked for Sam Cummins Chevrolet and Herb Jones Chevrolet, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and was an active member and Deacon of Central Baptist Church. He loved sports and was an avid U.K. fan. Everett is survived by his wife, Judy Katherine Redding Johnson, Paris; son, Mike (Sally) Baugh, Lexington; two grandchildren, Michael Baugh Jr., Jonathan Baugh; two great grandchildren, Rebecca Jade Baugh, Emily Riley Baugh; two brothers, Stanley Johnson, Lexington, Bill Johnson, Mount Sterling; and a sister, Betty Jean Lawson, Mount Sterling. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Alma Hunt, Myrtle Tapp, Mattie Sorrell; and four brothers, Roy, Omer, Shirley, and Bob Johnson. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, at Central Baptist Church by Rev. Steven Scherer and Rev. Dan Russell with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Ronnie Johnson, Charles Johnson, Michael Baugh Jr., Jonathan Baugh, Bill Johnson, and Chuck Lawson. The Deacons of Central Baptist Church will serve as honorary bearers. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, 829 High Street, Paris, KY 40361.
