Frederick Donald Maschke, 52, of Paris, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2015 at UK Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

Fred was born May 17, 1962 in Paw Paw, Michigan to Charles F. Maschke and Alice Hawn Nix.
He moved to Paris in 1978 with his father and brothers, Chad and Eric. He attended Paris High School and worked on horse farms in the area. In the late 1980's, Fred relocated to Brookhaven, Mississippi and married. After divorcing, he returned to Kentucky about ten years ago. He was a professional dry wall finisher and painter. Fred enjoyed many of life's pleasures including: hunting and fishing, gathering by the campfire with friends and his music, and most of all his beagle, Daisy, who was always by his side.

Fred is survived by his father, Charles F. Maschke of Paris, brothers Chadwick of Marcellus, Michigan and Eric (Carol) Maschke, of Paris. His mother, Alice Hawn (Joe) Nix of Billings, Montana. One Aunt, Peggy Hawn May of Battle Creek, Michigan, one Uncle, Larry Hawn of Anchorage, Alaska, nephews: Chad Jr., Bradley, and Josh Maschke, niece: Holly Statler, and several great nieces and great nephews.

Special family members: Virginia L. Britton, stepbrother Jason R. Britton, and stepsister Frances Britton Morris, all of Paris. Fred has many special friends in Paris as well as family and friends in Mississippi.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, 526 Pleasant Street, Paris, KY on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 11-1 with service to follow. Cremation will take place with interment in Rose Hill Cemetery, Marcellus, Michigan at a later date.
