Geneva Ruth Buchanan, 81, Maysville Road, retired Hansley Mill seamstress, widow of Ellis Ray Buchanan Sr., died Thursday, December 30, 2010 at her home. She was born September 28, 1929 in Nicholas County, daughter of the late Guy and Mary Catherine Williams Dwelly and was a graduate of Nicholas County High School. She is survived by three sons, Keith (Karin) Buchanan, Millersburg, Ronald (Charlotte) Buchanan, Bourbon County, Darryl (Connie) Buchanan, Nicholas County; a stepdaughter, Mary Ann (Wayne) Grant, Paris; three sisters, Ruby Johnson, Florida, Dena (Raymond) Combs, Jackson, KY, Velma Dwelly, Millersburg; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters; two brothers; and a stepson, Ellis Ray Buchanan Jr. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Hospice Chaplain David Holden with burial in the Millersburg Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Keith Buchanan, Ronald Buchanan, Darryl Buchanan, Brian Buchanan, Chris Buchanan, and Frankie Buchanan. Honorary bearers will be Al "Buddy" Wade, Johnny Combs, Raymond Guy Combs, Marion Stivers, Raymond Combs Sr., John Hendrix, Jim Wagoner, and Butch Jordan. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
