Gilbert Ray Logan passed away August 14, 2014, age 80. He was born in Nicolas County, Kentucky to Louie and John Willie Logan.

Gilbert graduated from Carlisle High School, class of 1953,was a U.S. Navy veteran, and had a career with Boehringer Ingelheim, who are manufacturers and distributors of animal health medicines and supplies. He retired in 1990 and moved to Ormond Beach, FL in 2002.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mae Logan, his brothers Billy Lee, Ivan Phillip and Marion "Pete" Logan, all of Paris, KY.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Stigall Logan, Ormond Beach; son John Michael Logan, Billings, Montana; daughter Sally Logan, Acworth, GA; grandson Ian Andrew Logan, Laurel, Montana; his sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Smooth, Carlisle, KY, Mrs. Ruth Dayton (Jack), Beaver Creek, OH; Sisters-in-law Mrs. Doris Logan and Mrs. Linda Logan of Paris, KY. He also has a large extended family but was especially close to nephews David Smoot, Cynthiana, KY and Jack Dayton, Niceville, FL.

Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, at the North Middletown Cemetery, North Middletown, KY. Hinton-Turner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangement. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the North Middletown Cemetery Maintenance Fund, P.O. Box 106, North Middletown, KY 40357.
