Gladys Pelfrey, 86, widow of Isaac Marion "Ike" Pelfrey, owner of Ike's Boat Dock, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Bourbon Community Hospital. She was born May 9, 1928 in Estill County, daughter of the late Arnold B. and Guessie Barnes Young and was a member of Millers Creek Christian Church. Gladys is survived by three daughters, Sheila (Bud) Clemons, Janice (Larry) Shepherd, both of Paris, Joyce Pelfrey (Connie), Nicholasville; two sons, Wayne (Carolyn) Pelfrey, Jerry (Sue) Pelfrey, both of Paris; a sister, Verna Freeman, Paris; fifteen grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Alice Fay Davis; and a son, Arnold Pelfrey. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug 1, at Evergreen Memory Gardens by Rev. Gary Ellcessor. Casket bearers will be Bud Clemons II, Michael Pelfrey, Juan Pelfrey, Brock Barnes, Austin Roberts, Hunter Clemons, Lance Cordray, and Larry Cordray. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Friday at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home.
