Helen C. Hadden, 95, of Clintonville Rd., Paris, KY, widow of Roland D. Hadden, died at the Hospice Care Center, Lexington, on Tuesday, August 3, 2010.

A native of Covington, daughter of William B. and Stella Collins, she attended Holmes High School, and graduated from Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing Lexington, KY .

She practiced nursing privately and in hospital settings for many years. Her avocation was as a heraldry artist, having researched and painted over 11,000 coats of arms. She was also a contributor to much of her family's history through the DAR and wrote two books of genealogy for both Collins and Hadden families. Her work is now housed at the John Fox Library at Duncan Tavern in Paris. She also enjoyed China painting and shared her work as gifts with many friends and family.

Faithful to her church, she was a member of Central Baptist Church, Paris, serving in many capacities, including pianist and organist. She was a founder of the Paris Christian Women's Club and an active visitor to the residents at Bourbon Heights.

Survivors include five children, Jerry Hadden, Lexington; Carol (Bill) Ragland, North Middletown; Tommy (Katie) Hadden, Lexington; Linda Linville, Paris; Rick (Paulette) Hadden, Paris; 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren.

Services to celebrate her life will be conducted at 2 PM with visitation beginning at 11 AM, Friday, August 6, at Central Baptist Church, Paris, by Revs. Dan Russell, Vernon Mallow, and Don Carroll.
