Helen Louise Saunders, 85, Corbin and formerly of Paris, widow of William "Bill" Saunders, died Sunday, March 30, 2008 at the Corbin Nursing Home. She was born May 8, 1922 in Paris, daughter of the late Doc and Lucille Staton, a graduate of Paris High School, and was a member of Central Baptist Church. Mrs. Saunders is survived by a son, Billy Hess, Indianapolis, IN; two daughters, Anna Crowe, Paris, Margaret Ledington, Lily, KY; a sister, Nannie Carter, Paris; 14 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Dorothy Scromae and Nancy Hall. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 3, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Ricky Hess with interment in the Fleming County Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Ricky Hess, June Crowe, Jr., Sue Hess, Robert Gregory, Kimberly Crowe and Jordan Crowe. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
