Howard Kent Jones, 88, Waynesburg, retired Weaver Corporation employee, U.S. Army veteran of World War II, husband of Joyce Earlywine Jones, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at his home. He was born October 4, 1921 in Winchester, son of the late Ellis and Hazel Trimble Jones, attended North Middletown School. He was a member of American Legion Post #38, a 65 year member of Mill Spring VFW Post #269, a Kentucky Colonel, and was a member of Ruddles Mill Christian Church. He is also survived by a son, Mike (Patti) Jones, Paris; a daughter, Sandra Jones, Somerset; stepdaughter, Kaye Edwards, Waynesburg; stepson, Rick Ruark, Waynesburg; two brothers, Virgil (Mary) Jones, Bourbon County, Billy Jones, Paris; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Roberta Fuller Jones; a sister, Lucille Jones; a brother, Houston Jones; and a stepson, Randy Ruark. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 2, at the Paris Cemetery Chapel by Randy Fischer.
