James Edward Mattingly, Jr., 76, Brentsville Road, retired electrician for Watson Electric, husband of Linda Florence Mattingly, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at his home. He was born June 9, 1931 in Lexington, son of the late James Edward and Eunice Brink Mattingly, a member of IBEW Local 183, and attended the Central Baptist Church. James is also survived by two daughters, Pam (Robert) Lowery, Stanford, Penny (Charlie) Wilds, Cynthiana; two sons, Mark (Reamonna) Mattingly, Harrodsburg, John (Sherry) Lanter, Paris; eight grandchildren, Michelle Couture, Nicholasville, Melissa (Mic) Parsons, Arizona, Ayla Mattingly, Harrodsburg, Luke Curtis Mattingly, Harrodsburg, Andrew Lanter, Nick Lanter, Sara King, Leana King; three great grandchildren, Jimmy Lowery, Joey Lowery, Ryan Couture; a brother, Phillip Mattingly, Ft. Wayne, IN; and two sisters, Ollie (John) Alford, Harrodsburg and Mary (Paul) Brooks, Lexington. He was preceded in death by a grandson, James Ray Lowery. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Dan Russell with interment in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be David Puckett, Bob Wilson, Nick Lanter, Andrew Lanter, Jason Patrick, and Charlie Wilds. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Saturday. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or Central Baptist Building Fund.
