James William Mattox, 80, Niles, Ohio and formerly of Paris, former employee of Claiborne Farm, widower of Marion Gray Mattox, former employee of Claiborne Farm, died Tuesday, February 12, 2008. He was born April 1, 1927 in Paris, son of the late John B. and Gertrude Burden Mattox. Mr. Mattox is survived by four sons, James E. (Elizabeth) Mattox, Niles, OH, Mike Eugene (Sue) Mattox, Danville, Robert W. Mattox, Georgetown, Jeffery L. Mattox, Paris; a daughter, Gertrude "Trudy" (Ronnie) Cameron, Paris; a sister, Dorcas Christopher, Paris; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; and special care giver, Beverly Howley, Niles, OH. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 16, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by the Rev. Timothy Pierce with interment in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Tony Asbury, Roger Dampier, Jeffery Mattox, Jimmy Peters, Ronnie Cameron, and Larry Gray. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday.
