Jane Clarke Clay Bridgewater, 72, retired music teacher, organist, and house director at the University of Kentucky for Delta Delta Delta sorority and Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the Hospice Care Center. She was born August 1, 1935 in Lexington, daughter of the late Charles Cecil "C.C." and Lillian Talbott Clarke, a 1953 graduate of North Middletown High School, graduated from Christian College in Columbia, MO in 1955, a member of North Middletown Christian Church for many years, Fortnightly and Little Garden Clubs, both in Winchester, Blue Grass Garden Club, Historic Paris and Bourbon County Association, and the Stoner Creek Country Club. Jane is survived by one daughter, Susan (Jim) Grigsby, Lexington; one son, Charlie (Stacy) Clay, Richmond; and one granddaughter, Sarah Clay. She was preceded in death by three infant sons. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Dr. William Curwood and Rev. Linda Curwood with interment in the North Middletown Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Lew Sharp, Mike Sharp, Bill B. Bryan, Sam Clay, Harry Park, Jeff McFarland, and Bill Henson. Honorary bearers will be Bill Rogers, Dan Duty, Doug McCammish, Harry Richart, David Dick, and the Bridge Club, "Sug" Park, Betty Duty, Becca Rogers, Barbara Leer, Mattie Kirkpatrick, Carolyn Proc Blair, Patty Page Layson, and Jessie Buckner. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday. Memorials are suggested to the North Middletown Christian Church of the Paris Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
