Janise Skaggs Jones, 53, Stoney Point Road, nursing supervisor for the Bourbon County Health Department, wife of Josiah A. Jones, died Thursday, February 28, 2008 at her home. She was born April 19, 1954 in Taylorsville, daughter of Dr. William K. and Elizabeth Spears "Betty" Skaggs of Louisville, a graduate of Taylorsville High School, Georgetown College, and received her nursing degree from the Lexington Technical Institute. Jan was a member and elder of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She is also survived by a daughter, Julia Walden Jones, Lexington; and a brother, Dr. Martin (Mechele) Skaggs, Louisville. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 3, at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) by Rev. Jeff Bell and Rev. Brad Walden with interment in the North Middletown Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Craig Spears, Bobby Carrithers, Brad Carr, Bill Caldwell, Dr. Perry Wornall, Dr. Rick Labore, Bill Bradford, and Lonnie Owens. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the church. Memorials are suggested to World Outreach through First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
