Jesse "Tommy" Lanter, 84, of Paris, KY, passed away Monday, June 21, 2010 at UK Medical Center in Lexington. He was a World War II veteran and was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He was born in Bourbon County to the late Jess Lanter and the late Mary Bell Crump. He was a retired automobile dealer with Lanter & White for several years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Paris, KY.
He is preceded in death by two sisters, Virgie Woodall and Christine Meiboon. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Barbara Lanter; one son, Ron E. Lanter of Houma, LA; one daughter, Beverly (Mark) Davis of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren, Nicole Davis, Adam Davis, and Jeffie Lanter; one brother, Orville of Paris, KY; one sister, Ida Traylor of Frankfort, KY, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2010, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Jerri Williams with final resting place in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be John Robin Smits, Jerry Weaver, Ed Brady, David Ballard, Robert Zoeller, and Ricky Mingua. Honorary bearers will be James Brady and Joe McClain. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 to p.m. Thursday with Masonic Rites at 8:00 p.m. Contributions can be made to Hospice of Bluegrass.
