Jewell Ritchie Wagoner, 88, wife of Samuel Florence Wagoner Jr., died Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Hospice Care Center. She was born June 16, 1927 in Bourbon County, daughter of the late William Baxter "W.B." and Claudia Lillian Jackson Ritchie. Jewell attended Center Hill Elementary School and Millersburg High School. She was a very devoted, faithful, and loving wife and mother. Jewell had worked as a housewife, a clerk for Newberry's and Bourbon Farm Service, worked in the clothing factory in Carlisle, and was a Home Interior Decorator. She was a member of Ruddles Fort Homemakers and Herrington United Methodist Church where she had been very active and faithful in all areas of the church and United Methodist Women. In addition to her husband, Jewell is survived by two sons, Wayne (Ruby) Wagoner, Jarvis (Tina) Wagoner, both of Paris; daughter-in-law, Diane Wagoner, Millersburg; sister, Helen Pennington, Paris; eight grandchildren, Michelle Blackburn, Cristina Wilburn, Michael Wagoner, Mandy Wagoner, Derrick Wagoner, Kain Wagoner, Jordan Wagoner, Jacob Wagoner; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by a son, Randy Wagoner; and a grandson, Samuel Arthur Wagoner. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 13, at the Hinton-Turner funeral home by Rev. Gaylord Gillispie and Rev. Joel Moneyhan with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Kain Wagoner, Jordan Wagoner, Jacob Wagoner, Dean Blackburn, Roger Wilburn, Michael E. Wagoner, Derrick Wagoner, and Michael Wayne Wagoner. Honorary bearers will be Doug Martin, Coleman Gillispie, Jim Fryman, Allen DeAtley, Charlie DeAtley, Tommy Gillispie, and Bruce Wagoner. Visitation will be after 9:00 a.m. Saturday.
