Joe Melvin Doyle, 76, of Plainville, Illinois, formerly of Paris, died Thursday, June 28, 2007 at his home. He was born February 24, 1931 in Bourbon County, son of the late Neville and Ada Frances Shumate Doyle. He married Ann "Missy" McGurk on December 20, 1962. Mr. Doyle was a member of St. John's Church and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was an avid NASCAR fan, hunter, and University of Kentucky Wildcat basketball fan. Mr. Doyle was a graduate of Bourbon County High School and attended the University of Kentucky. He later graduated from Lafayette Technical School and was employed as a tool and die maker for Dura Corporation and later for McDonnell Douglas and Boeing until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Missy; two daughters, Joyce Ann Foster and her husband Chuck, Eastonville, GA, Margery Jane Doyle, New Jersey; four sons, Bruce Price Doyle and his wife Mary, Paris, Patrick Brock Doyle, Joseph Brian Doyle, both at home, Kevin Manard, Plainville, IL; five grandchildren, Tiffanie Doyle, Breanna Doyle, Marvin Foster, Heath Foster, Russell Foster; three great grandchildren; a sister, Wilma Joyce Keely and her husband, Richard, St. Leonard, MD; and many loving nieces and nephews. A son, Teddy Lee Doyle, preceded him in death. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery by Rev. William C. Bush. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Catholic Church of the Annunciation.
