John Edwin Sievers, 46, Tahoma Drive, an employee of City of Paris Sanitation Department, husband of Cheryl Swanson Sievers, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Hospice Care Center. He was born May 18, 1965 in Paris, son of Patricia Kruger Sievers, Paris, and the late Russell Sievers, a 1984 graduate of Bourbon County High School and attended Fugazzi Business College and Eastern Kentucky University Police Academy for dispatching. John was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Lexington, and the Paris and Lexington Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association. In addition to his wife and mother, John is survived by two sons, Joseph Russell Sievers, James August Sievers; a daughter, Ashlyn Jeanette Sievers; sister, Susan (Claire) Henry, IL; and three brothers, Jerry (Kathy) Sievers, IL, Terry Sievers, IL, and Tom Sievers, CA. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Paul Sievers; and a brother, James Sievers. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 30, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Ron Luckey and Chaplain David Holden with burial in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Gary Barbee, James Gaunce, Duane Swanson, Claire Henry, Dave Beach, and Tony Asbury. Honorary bearers will be members of the Paris Citizen Police Academy and City of Paris Sanitation Department employees. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
