Joseph Charles Fleury, 88, of Paris, Kentucky, passed away early Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the Hospice Care Center at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Joe was born September 24, 1922 in Ste.-Victoire Sur Richelieu, Quebec, Canada, the son of the late Paul and Clara Desjardins Fleury. He retired from Blue Grass Army Depot-Lexington and Raytheon Corporation. He is survived by his wife Betty Barnett Fleury, Paris, Kentucky; a stepdaughter, Debbie Fryman, Lexington, Kentucky; a daughter, Theresa (Owen) Yocum, Lexington, Kentucky; a brother-in-law, Gerard Bourgault, Montreal, Quebec, Canada; many nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Carol Conway, Paris, Kentucky. Joe was preceded in death by a sister, Agathe Fleury Bourgault; and brothers, Bernard Fleury, Daniel Fleury, and Francois Fleury, all of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Heartfelt thanks are also given to the caregivers of Nurses Registry, NR, Inc., and Nephrology Associates, all of Lexington. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 6, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home in Paris, Kentucky. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation, Paris, by Father John Curtis with burial in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Paris. Casket bearers will be Larry Barnett, Gary Barnett, Owen Yocum, Eldon Conway, Teddy Egbert, and Tim Sosby. Honorary bearers will be Dr. Murray West and Ms. Pat Ameche. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Hospice of the Bluegrass or to a preferred charity.
