Juanita Mahorney "Non" Thompson, 89, Elizabeth Street, retired inspector for Hansley Mill, widow of Ernest Thompson, Jr., died Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. She was born July 24, 1920 in Cynthiana, daughter of the late John William and Nettie Shanks Mahorney and was a graduate of Ruddles Mill High School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Nifty Needles Quilt Guild, Town and Country Homemakers, and was a Kentucky Colonel. She is survived by a daughter, Zereda Thompson Lucky, Paris; two grandsons, Ken (Angie) Lucky, Ernie (Julie) Lucky, both of Cynthiana; and four great grandchildren, Daniel Lemons, Will Lucky, both of Cynthiana, Megan Lucky and Jannica Lucky, both of Paris. Her son-in-law, Bill Kenny Lucky, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 30, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Jerri Williams with burial in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Dave Mann, Roger Lemons, Daniel Lemons, Mike Purcell, John Robin Smits, David Smits, and Travis Smits. Honorary bearers will be Carolyn Walls, Bessie Rainey, Helen Wagner, and members of Town and Country Homemakers. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
