Julian W. Wells, 99, retired employee of Lexington-Bluegrass Army Depot-Avon, US Army veteran of WW II, husband of Dorothy McCracken Wells, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at his home. He was born May 5, 1910 in Carlisle, son of the late Orie H. and Elizabeth Miller Wells, a graduate of Bourbon County schools, and was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He is also survived by a granddaughter, Teresa K. Dishman, Paris; two great granddaughters, Breanna and Sara Dishman; son-in-law, Tom Eads, Lakeland, FL; and a sister, Jean McCall, Winchester. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda W. Eads; four brothers, Hart, Jack, Herman, Willard "Dodd" Wells; and a sister, Mary Harney. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church by Rev. Jeff Bell and Rev. Sue McCracken with burial in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be J.B. Eads, Richard Eads, Jason Eads, Tom Perry, Mack McCracken, Bobby Smith, Jimmy McCall, and Wayne Wells. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Diabetes Association or First Christian Church Building Fund.
