Katherine Purcell "Kate" Bartlett, 92, Massie Avenue, retired Hansley Mill employee, widow of Earl H. Bartlett, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Bourbon Heights. She was born March 12, 1918 in Robertson County, daughter of the late Charlie C. and Jennie Bell Lucas Purcell. She is survived by five daughters, Margaret (Bill) Kissick, Bourbon County, Janet (Sam) Scott, Paris, Sue (Harold) Davis, Paris, Peggy Holder, Paris, Patsy (Gary) Boots, Bourbon County; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Bartlett; a sister, Tillie (Richard) Shepard, Lexington; two brothers, Tom Purcell, Paris, William (Kathy) Purcell, Georgetown; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and four great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Bartlett; and three a brothers, Ward Runyon Purcell, Joseph Forrest Purcell, and Leo Davis Purcell. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 21, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Neal Paris with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be her grandsons, Charles E. Bartlett Jr., Danny D. Puckett, Charles Michael Scott, Sammy Scott Jr., Jan Michael Christopher, and Tim Bartlett. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
