Linda Lou Gaunce Maye, 65, widow of Jackie Maye, died Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Georgetown Community Hospital. She was born January 19, 1945 in Bourbon County, daughter of the late Irvine Collier and Nellie May Barlow Gaunce, a 1964 graduate of Bourbon County High School, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Linda provided janitorial services for the First United Methodist Church, First Presbyterian Church, and VanHoose Steak House. She is survived by a sister, Wilma Jo Watkins, Paris; three nieces, Vickie Ritchie, Carlisle, Carolyn Disney, Cathy Roe, both of Cincinnati; two great nephews, Chad Steele, Lexington, Matt Disney, Cincinnati; and a great niece, Sarah Janning. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Collier Gaunce. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 17, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Robert Sageser with burial in the Carlisle Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Chad Steele, Barry Ritchie, Bill T. McConnell, Jim Lovell, Jerry Hedges, and Matt Disney. Honorary bearers will be Phillip Disney, staff of Dover Manor Nursing Home, and the staff of Hospice of the Bluegrass.
