Lloyd Clay McCarty, 84, retired Bruce Hardware salesman, a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II, widow of Lorena Hutchison McCarty, died Friday, March 14, 2008. He was born December 24, 1923 in Bourbon County, son of the late Walter and Katie McCarty and was a member of Central Baptist Church. Mr. McCarty is survived by a daughter, Janet (Gene) Yocum, Rockville, MD; two sons, Clayton G. "Buck" (Beverly) McCarty, Ft. Myers, FL, Marion (Deidra) McCarty, Paris; eight grandchildren, Dana (Steve) Hill, Paris, Lisa (Brian) Hilander, Paris, Kim (Brian) Dufour, Georgetown, Melanie (Mark) Dearing, Indiana, James (Susan) Yocum, Willow Springs, NC, Thomas Yocum, New York, NY, Andrew Yocum, Rockville, MD, John McCarty, Paris; 12 great grandchildren; three sisters, Leona Plank, Paris, Margaret Henley, Georgia, and Sue (David) Matherly, Paris; and a brother, Alva (Dean) McCarty, Lexington. He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Schow. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Dan Russell. Interment will be in the North Middletown Cemetery. Mr. McCarty's grandsons will serve as casket bearers. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
