Eddie Prater, 63, Clintonville Road, retired computer programmer for IBM, owner and operator of Prater Trucking, husband of Janet Blair Prater, died Sunday, July 26, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born December 14, 1945 in Fleming County, a graduate of Fleming County High School, a member of the First Church of God and Paris Lodge #2, F&AM, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Eddie is also survived by two sons, Robert (Kim) Prater, Wallingford, KY, Kelly (Tara) Prater, Maysville; two daughters, Tammy Scott, Georgetown, Melinda Sears (Yannick Deslauriers), Nashville; six grandchildren, Emily Prater, Cayce Prater, Carson Prater, Sydney Scott, Victoria Prater, Brooklyn Scott; two sisters, Lynn Jones, Gainesville, FL, Patty (Brad) Farrow, Jeffersonville, IN; and a brother, Chester (Cathy) Stacey, Kingsburg, CA. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. David Mefford with burial in the Paris Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cancer Care Club, PO Box 189, Flemingsburg, KY 41041.
