Macie Ruth Spencer Lawson passed away peacefully on January 24, 2011 at Bourbon Heights in Paris. Macie was the widow of Merl Lawson and is survived by her son Kenneth (wife Pat), two grandsons, Eric and Phillip, along with their spouses and four great-grandchildren, all of whom live in Richmond, Virginia.
Macie was a native of Logan County, Kentucky where she taught high school during World War II. She was a dedicated member of Central Baptist Church since 1952 and worked as a bookkeeper at Wheeler Furniture Company and Gay-Bell Corporation before moving to the Paris City School System where she served as secretary to the superintendent until her retirement.
All who know Macie would testify to her love and faith in God and dedication to her church and family.
Visitation will be at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, January 26, with the funeral at Central Baptist Church in Paris at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 27 and burial at the Paris Cemetery. Donations may be made to Central Baptist Church, 829 High Street, Paris, KY 40361.
