Mary Ruth "Boots" Hinkle, 85, Bunker Hill Road, wife of Maurice "Pete" Hinkle, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the U.K. Medical Center. She was born December 14, 1924 in Montgomery County, daughter of the late Stanley and Rena Conkright Matherly and was a member of North Middletown Christian Church. She had worked as a seamstress at Hansley Mill, as a dental assistant for Dr. Gingles, and was a retired clerk for the Bourbon County Health Department. She is also survived by two sons, Harry (Karen) Hinkle, Lexington, Jim (Ruth) Hinkle, Waddy; a granddaughter, Lori (Martin) Elder, Waddy; two great grandchildren, Thomas and Madison Elder; two sisters, Edna (Cecil) Linville, Betty (Jack) Williams, both of Paris; and two brothers, David (Sue) Matherly, Little Rock and Everett Matherly, Sherman, TX. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Galbreath, Anna May Roark, Geneva Mann; and two brothers, Jimmy and Stanley Matherly. Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 26, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Rex Graham and Rev. Chuck Perry. Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. Sunday. Memorials are suggested to PAWS or one's favorite charity.
