Mary Emma Reid Sams, 83, of Lawrenceburg and formerly of North Middletown, former Sir Pizza manager, widow of McKinley Sams, died Thursday, November 3, at her home. She was born July 26, 1928 in North Middletown, daughter of the late Henry Clay and Lydia Johnson Reid. She was a graduate of North Middletown High School and was a member of Spears Mill Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Holly Sams; two sons, Mike (Dorothy) Sams, David Sams, all of Lawrenceburg; three sisters, Edith (Robert) Elam, Lexington, Amy (Billy) Mattox, North Middletown, Jean (James) Franklin, Paris; seven grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 7, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, Paris, by Brother Albert Moore with burial in North Middletown Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Roger Fryman Jr., Billy Mattox Jr., Kenneth Franklin, Mike Sams, Phillip Franklin, and Allen Stamper. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
