Mary Elizabeth Tucker, 95, Peacock Road, a retired teacher, widow of Jack Grady Tucker Sr., died Tuesday, April 5, 2011. She was born September 22, 1915 in Garden City, Colorado, daughter of the late John T. and Elizabeth Poindexter Gillig, a graduate of the University of Kentucky, and was a member of the Bourbon County Garden Club, Bourbon County Homemakers, Stoner Creek Country Club and an avid golfer, Jemima Johnson Chapter DAR, Historic Paris-Bourbon County, and Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John W. and Anne Tucker, Rockville, VA, Jack G. and Deedie Tucker, Bourbon County; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Bill Malott, Danville, KY; six grandchildren, Betsy Bray, Tucker McKay, Michelle Malott Bigelow, Amy Anusewicz, Jennifer Tucker, Julie Tucker; a son-in-law, Philip McKay; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Malinda McKay; and a grandson, Richard Malott. Graveside services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Lexington Cemetery by Rev. Jerri Williams. Casket bearers will be Julian Frank, Ted Kuster, Donald Jones, John R. Bell, Andrew Tucker, and John Gillig. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Historic Paris-Bourbon County, 800 Pleasant Street, Paris, KY 40361.
