Mary E. Clay Walker, 96, left her earthly life Tuesday, October 26, 2010. A life long resident of Paris, KY, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Amelia Clay Clay. She graduated from Science Hill School, Shelbyville, KY and Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Quentin W. Walker, and brothers, James E. Clay and Samuel Clay Jr. She is survived by her two children: Quentin W. Walker Jr. and his wife Suzanne (Susie) and Amelia (Mimi) W. Ward and her husband Robert; two grandsons, Quentin W. Walker III and W. VanMeter Alford III; and three step granddaughters, Jennifer, Sara, and Mary Beth Donaldson. The family extends a special thank you to her in-home care givers: Michelle Johnson, Margaret Nichols, Trish Holman, Ruth Mack, and Ann Edwards and the Cynthiana Hospice Aqua Team. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 29, at the First Christian Church by Rev. Jeff Bell with burial in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be George S. Branch, Samuel Clay III, Arthur Hancock III, Seth W. Hancock, James G. Kenan III, Buckner Hinkle Jr., Henry L. Hinkle, and Thomas S. Hinkle. Honorary bearers will be Catesby W. Clay, Charlton A. Clay II, Charlton C. Cox, N.E. Blackwell, and Vance Blackwell. The family requests no flowers but memorials may be made to Cane Ridge Meeting House, PO Box 26, Paris, KY 40362; Hopewell Museum, 800 Pleasant St., Paris, KY 40361; Hospice of the Bluegrass, 1317 US Hwy 62 E, Cynthiana, KY 41031; or Paris Animal Welfare Society, PO Box 222, Paris, KY 40362.
