Mattie Amelia Eades Sturgeon, 75, High Street, a customer service clerk for Ken's New Market, widow of Robert Franklin Sturgeon, died Monday, December 10, 2007 at the U.K. Medical Center. She was born May 18, 1932 in Paris, daughter of the late William Jacob and Tommie Rowland Eades, a graduate of Paris High School, and was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a preschool Sunday School teacher, a member of Women on Missions, and the Emily Smith Sunday School class. Mattie is survived by a daughter, Janice (Forest) Jackson; a son, Bobby Clay (Bonnie) Sturgeon, both of Bourbon County; six grandchildren, Brian (Shannon) Jackson, Scottsbluff, NE, Bret (Laura) Jackson, Bourbon County, Clay (Michele) Sturgeon, Clark Sturgeon, Kyle Sturgeon, Elizabeth Sturgeon, all of Paris; three great grandchildren, Jackson and Kathryn Sturgeon, Nicholas Jackson; a sister, Jane Barlow, Paris; and a brother, Joe Kenny (Susan) Eades, Paris. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Allen Eades. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Don Reed with interment in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Brian Jackson, Bret Jackson, Clay Sturgeon, Clark Sturgeon, Kyle Sturgeon, Elizabeth Sturgeon, and John Sargent. Honorary bearers will be Bill Woodward, Sharon Leach, John Beaton, Jim Brooks, Hope Mullins, her co-workers at Ken's New Market, Deacons of First Baptist Church, and the Emily Smith Sunday School class. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
