Mildred Vanlandingham McCall, Stoney Point Road, widow of Arlen McCall, died at Bourbon Heights on Wednesday, April 22 at 7:25 p.m. She was born January 28, 1917 in Bath County the daughter of the late Walter and Lellie Piersall Vanlandingham. Mildred was a homemaker, a member of North Middletown Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Christian Woman's Fellowship, North Middletown Junior Homemakers, worked 10 years at the Bourbon County Hospital as an aide and newborn nursery, and active in the ceramics department at the church. She received her GED at age 74 in 1991. She is survived by a son, David (Diane) McCall of Lexington; a daughter, Linda (Nelson) Faris of Paris; two grandchildren, Karen (Jeff) May, Anthony (Tracy) Faris, all of Clark County; four great grandchildren, Kelsey and Caleb May, Kailey and Austin Faris; a sister, Edith Tolson of Carlisle; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Vanlandingham, Jr. and George Vanlandingham. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Bob Silvanik with burial in the North Middletown Cemetery. Casket bearers will be David McCall, Nelson Faris, Everett Garrison, Craig Hanson, Anthony Faris, Jeff May, and Fred Tolson. Honorary bearers will be Karen May, Tracy Faris, her great grandchildren, and members of CWF. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday. Memorials are suggested to North Middletown Christian Church.
