Myrtie Carolyn Clem Sloan, 73, of McClain Drive, Lexington, retired employee of the Bourbon County Hospital, widow of Cecil B. Clem and Bethel Sloan, died Sunday, November 30, 2008 at her home. She was born April 26, 1935 in Rockcastle County, daughter of the late John Rowland and Sarah Alice Hisle Dyer and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Winchester. She is survived by three sons, Johnny Ray (Jo Ann) Clem, Winchester, Cecil Carl Clem, Lexington, Douglas Wayne (Lisa) Clem, Lexington; two brothers, Henry (Norma) Dyer, Lexington, Sam (Christine) Dyer, Winchester; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. A daughter, Catherine Blair Warner, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Jeffrey Ryder with burial in the Clintonville Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
