Nancy Cecilia Crowe Hampton, 86, Eastridge Drive, retired bookkeeper for Griffin Manufacturing, wife of Melvin Earl Hampton Jr., died Monday, September 12, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born December 31, 1924 in Clark County, daughter of the late Lilian and Edna Long Crowe, attended Millersburg School, and was a member of Silas Baptist Church. She is also survived by a daughter, Olivia (Harry) Ritchie, Bourbon County; a son, David Earl (Priscilla) Hampton, Paris; five grandchildren, Jay (Angie) Ritchie, Laura Hampton, Leslie (Kevin) Spalding, Joshua Hampton, Eric Hampton; and a sister, Marie Collins, Orlando, FL. A granddaughter, Rebecca Hampton, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17, at Silas Baptist Church by Rev. Curtis Coots with burial in Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jay Ritchie, Joshua Hampton, Eric Hampton, Daniel VanMeter, Andrew VanMeter, William Brogli, Michael Brogli, Lewis Vandiver, and Charles Prebble. Honorary bearers will be Betty Prebble, Vicky Coots, Lorena Foley, Ann King, Barbara Vandiver, Judy Burden, Mary Boardman, Jeanine Kiser, Lynn Molloy, Betty Snapp, Mildred Fister, Nancy Mason, Connie McAlister, Bettie Pelfrey, Brenda Roush, Hallie Linville, Mary Spears, and Pam Cundiff. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Silas Baptist Church.
