Nannie Mae Barnett Smith, 94, Bradford Court, retired Bourbon County Hospital nurse's aide with 26 years of service, widow of James Thomas Barnett and Virgil Smith, died Sunday, January 28, 2007 at her residence. She was born June 9, 1912 in Mount Vernon, daughter of the late Thomas and Matilda Harold Winkler, a graduate of Rockcastle County High School, and attended Berea College. Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Betty (Joe) Fleury, Bernice (Roy) Linville, both of Paris; two sons, Larry Barnett, Cynthiana, Gary Barnett, Carlisle; 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one great, great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by five sons, Leonard, Paul, Ivin, Aderon, and Jimmy Barnett. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Gary Fletcher with interment in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Dean Barnett, Doug Barnett, Paul Barnett, Jimmy Barnett, Tom Barnett, and Timmy Linville. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
