Nellie Williams Jones, 99 years of age of Bell Street, departed this life October 19, 2009 at the Johnson Mathers Nursing Home in Carlisle, KY. She was born to the late William Williams and Mattie Clines Williams both of Bath County. She was preceded in death by her late husband Omar Wilson Jones. She is survived by two daughters, Alma (Paul) Sponcil and Anna F. Wells; three grandchildren, Larry (Kathy) Sponcil, Mike (Cecilia) Sponcil, Peggy (Bill) Watson;11 great grandchildren, Chad (Andrea) Sponcil, Tabitha Leito, Michele Leito, Matt (Julie) Watson, Megan (Anthony) Davidson, Kelly Sponcil, Tracey Sponcil, Camryn Sponcil, Christy Sponcil, Jackie (Andrew) Willoughby, Samantha Smith; and nine great, great grandchildren, Ryan Sponcil, Brynna Sponcil, Grace Watson, Jason Watson, Kamron Davidson, Logan Davidson, Kayla Sponcil, Christopher Sponcil, and Sarah Morris. She is also survived by two sisters, Nancy Hamm, Mayme Walker; and one brother, Raymond Williams. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Greg Sponcil and Darlene Smith. After retirement as an inspector at Hansley Mills, Inc., she worked cleaning and cooking and taking care of others. Favorite activities during her lifetime were homemade candy, canning garden vegetables, sewing, quilting, and spoiling all her grand children. Pallbearers will be Larry Sponcil, Mike Sponcil, Chad Sponcil, Bill Watson, Matt Watson, Anthony Davidson and Billy Rankin. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Williams, Pete Coburn, and Sidney Wells. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Paul Holland. Final resting place will be the Paris Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
