Nelson Barnes Faulkner, 98, a retired electrical engineer, U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, widower of Mary Moran Faulkner and Virginia Dorsey Faulkner, died Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Bourbon Community Hospital. He was born April 22, 1917 in Flemingsburg, son of the late George and Angie Smith Jones Faulkner. Nelson received his Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering from the University of Kentucky in 1940. He was a member of Spindletop Hall, Stoner Creek Country Club, Triangle Fraternity, Paris First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and had served on the Maysville Planning and Zoning Commission. Nelson is survived by two daughters, Mary F. Bowling, Cincinnati, Ohio, Nancy (Steve) Campbell, Fort Mitchell, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Erin Blevins, Stephanie Russell, Jonathan Campbell; and three great grandchildren, Rachel Blevins, John Michael Blevins, and Emma Russell. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, at Maysville-Mason County Cemetery by Rev. Jeff Bell and Dr. Henry Hanna. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church, 911 High Street, Paris, KY 40361 or one's favorite charity.
